Midlands Gives

Each year, we host Midlands Gives, an annual giving initiative that unites the community around local philanthropy. This year, I played a hands-on role in our communications and outreach efforts by working in media relations, press releases, social media, event planning, email marketing, and print collateral.​​

We use data visualization to translate the flow of dollars in and out of our organization into visuals that are tangible, accessible, and inspiring. By turning financial data into clear, story-driven graphics, we help our audiences see the real impact of their giving and the scale of our community’s generosity.

During my internship at Central Carolina Community Foundation, I supported the communications team in advancing the Foundation’s mission of connecting and mobilizing people and resources to strengthen our Midlands community.

Fundholder Invitations

One way our Communications team partners with Advancement is through invitation design for an annual fundholder event.

I designed pieces that felt fresh, fun, and exciting, using bright colors and bold visuals to stand out in the mail and build excitement among fundholders. 

Other Work

Key projects included creating content for newsletters and social media, writing press releases, assisting with event planning, and designing graphics that highlighted the impact of community giving initiatives such as Midlands Gives. Through this internship, I gained hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, deepened my understanding of brand storytelling, and contributed to projects that celebrate generosity and strengthen community impact.
